From Laughter to Life Lessons: How o9 Solutions Youngest Reader Uses Stories to Shape His World
A delightful journey into o9er Deepak Sengar's world, where bedtime stories ignite imagination and deepen family bonds—celebrating reading, parenting, and a love for books.

When Deepak Sengar shared book reviews, they were always somehow both poignant and lighthearted. When his spouse Monica Singh wrote a surprise, heartfelt LinkedIn note about o9's intellectual wellness program, powered by MyBookWorks, we became even more curious to know about o9 Solutions youngest reader - Nipun, Monica and Deepak's little boy. What we discovered is a family's journey, built with great care and love, book by book— a journey as hopeful, spirited and tender as Nipun himself.
What’s a typical reading session like at your home?
A typical reading session at our house is more of a storytelling marathon!
Nipun is always eager to dive into a new story or revisit his favorites. While we don’t have a dedicated reading nook, stories happen everywhere – whether it’s the couch, the dining table, or even while cuddled up in bed. Bedtime is particularly magical; Nipun often listens to 10-15 stories in one go.
He loves the experience so much that it’s not just limited to one time of the day. Stories can come alive during playtime or even while we’re running errands.

"What’s truly special is how he replicates and enacts these stories in his own unique way, playing the characters and re-living the narrative with such enthusiasm. It’s amazing to see his imagination take flight through storytelling!"
What funny, heartwarming moments have you experienced during your book-reading sessions?
One of the funniest has to be when we were reading "Flat Stanley" by Jeff Brown. There’s a part where Stanley winks to scare off a big bully, and Nipun just bursts into laughter every time! He finds it absolutely hilarious and even tries to mimic Stanley’s wink, though it usually ends with both of us laughing.
Recently, we’ve been reading "The Rabbit Listened" by Cori Doerrfeld, which I got from MyBookWorks just two days ago. Deepak read it to him first, and then I read it again. I was so amazed by how well he remembered every little detail—he could recall exactly what each animal did or said to Taylor. It was such a heartwarming moment to see how deeply he connected with the story and how thoughtfully he reflected on it.
Another cherished memory is from "Finding Winnie: The True Story of the World’s Most Famous Bear". Nipun decided that Winnie must have been best friends with Hanuman and created an elaborate backstory about how Hanuman helped Winnie find honey. We couldn’t stop laughing at his creativity!

What unexpected life lessons or values have emerged from reading together?
One of the most memorable moments was while reading "Be Brave Little Penguin" by Giles Andreae. It’s a story Nipun absolutely loves, and we’ve read it countless times.
One day, after finishing the book, I decided to tweak the story a bit, imagining Nipun as the little penguin, but instead of being scared of water, he was scared of cycling.
The story resonated with him so deeply that, right after we finished, he insisted—almost pulled us by force—that we head outside so he could try cycling. To our amazement, he pedaled a few rounds, overcoming his fear in such an inspiring way.

"It was such a beautiful moment to see how stories help him learn and connect with life lessons, like courage and persistence, and then bring them back to his own world. It’s a reminder of the incredible power of storytelling to inspire and shape young minds. These moments remind us of the magic of storytelling—how it can make us laugh, reflect, and connect in the sweetest ways."
If you could pick one story that resonates with Nipun’s personality or spirit, what would it be?
It’s so hard to pick just one, as Nipun connects deeply with so many stories in unique ways! Generally, he gravitates toward stories that are short and relatable, and I think that’s true for all of us.
He particularly enjoys tales where the protagonist is a bit mischievous, much like himself! Stories like "I Am Amelia Earhart'" or "Jane Goodall" really resonate with him because he loves guessing what these spirited characters might do next—they remind him of his own playful adventures.
He also adores stories featuring his favorite characters, like "Finding Winnie: The True Story of the World’s Most Famous Bear", which combines his love for Pooh with an inspiring backstory. Other favorites are "I Don’t Like Koala" and "Monkey Puzzle", which keep him engaged and entertained.
"If I had to choose just one, though, "I Am Amelia Earhart" might capture his spirit perfectly—curious, mischievous, and always ready to dream big!"
If you could create the perfect children’s book just for Nipun, what would it look like?
If we were to create the perfect children’s book for Nipun, it would be set in a fantasy world where Nipun is the hero, inspired by his belief in Hanuman as the most powerful being. The protagonist, also named Nipun, would embody Hanuman’s courage, playfulness, and strength.
The story would feature a whimsical team of his favorite animals and, of course, dinosaurs—because while he hasn’t read many books about them, he absolutely loves them! Together, this adventurous crew would set off on a thrilling journey to discover something extraordinary, facing challenges, solving mysteries, and, naturally, creating a bit of mischief along the way.

"The narrative would emphasize teamwork, sharing joys and sorrows, and overcoming obstacles through perseverance. One thing Nipun really appreciates in stories is the idea of hard-earned victory, so the climax would celebrate a success achieved after immense effort, making the moment even sweeter. It would be a book filled with laughter, adventure, and heartfelt moments—just like Nipun’s own spirited personality!"
